The Path of the Mystic

In my 30's questioning the meaning and purpose of my life I decided to attend a workshop called "Taking your soul to work" . The setting was at the beautiful Banff Center . The course was geared towards harmonizing values and work. Is Mystic a job description?

Mountain and forest air are pure and peaceful and the night air prompted recollection of several vivid dreams. We were asked to share the insights of a dream with the class. Mine was the vision of a beautiful goddess with her arms around the earth, asking us for our help. After the class the instructor approached me, "you are on the path of the mystic." I was uncertain what that meant and have spent many years pondering what it is to be on the path of the mystic.

While there are mystics in several religions and belief systems, mysticism is not about religion or belief systems. It's rooted in an ethic of service to all those who share this place we call home.

A mystics ability for intuition and connection is unique and is derived from within.

Not everyone can be a mystic, it is not something that can be learned or taught, therefore those who realize their innate abilities have the responsibility to help those without.

The mystics path is not linear, it winds back and forth weaving it's way through the trees of life. It is trusting in your intuition and helping to lessen others suffering. It's wondering about the meaning and purpose of your life and and others lives with a sense of joy and contentment. Knowing in your heart that we are all one on this beautiful plane of existence. Compassion, love, and optimism cloak you in abundance and a sense of service. And above all Action is Everything.

Walking the mountains surrounding Casa Spiritus Sancti, wearing a mystic cloak the trees whisper their story softly and the goddess wraps me in her arms.
